This is a permanent support staff post

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and positive member of the Learning Support Team to be our HLTA at St Cuthbert Mayne School.

The Key Purpose of the Post

Under the agreed system of supervision: take a lead role within the Learning Support structure of the school to address the special educational needs of students and help them overcome barriers to learning.

Key Duties

To assist the Deputy SENDCo and play an active part in supporting the needs of students throughout the school by:

Managing and delivering learning intervention support for different groups of students

Undertaking assessments of students to determine the areas of need and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students learning

Developing and delivering small group and 1:1 intervention sessions to support targeted groups of students

Liaising with teaching staff to agree a timetable for extraction and managing intervention timetables for the Learning Support team

Implementing agreed intervention programmes, adjusting intervention activities

according to student’s responses/needs

Monitoring, tracking and evaluating the impact of interventions on student progress and sharing this information with subject leaders

Liaising with the Assistant Headteacher responsible for SEND, Deputy SENDCo, and other staff to gather student information

Updating Learning Passports, Individual Learning Plans and Provisions on EduKey
