St Simon Stock Catholic School Work With Love

This is a superb opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented Business Studies and Economics teacher to join our wonderful school to enrich the learning experience of our students. We are an oversubscribed and highly successful school within a welcoming school community.

We are seeking a qualified Teacher of Business Studies and Economics to start in April 2022. The post is for part time 0.8fte but we could offer 1.0fte if the successful applicant had other subjects to offer that the curriculum requires. The position will provide good opportunities for professional development for a suitably aspirational teacher, whether qualified or newly qualified to teach up to GCSE and A Level.

The Business and Economics Department is a small yet very successful department. You will work alongside the Subject Leader in the teaching of Business Studies and Economics. We offer AQA GCSE Business 9-1, OCR A-Level Business and AQA A-Level Economics. We use a wide range of teaching and learning strategies in our practice from Literacy and Careers advice to Dragon’s Den style presentations. We are oversubscribed at KS4 and both Business and Economics are popular at KS5. A large number of our sixth form students choose to pursue both subjects at degree level.

The ideal candidate should:

– be able to inspire and motivate students to develop their full

potential using a variety of teaching and learning approaches

– be innovative and creative

– be willing to fulfil wider professional responsibilities

– be committed to promoting our Catholic values and ethos
